In the spring of 2015, Pierre-Luc Carmel Biron receives the 10 000 André Waechter Entrepreneurship Grant from the HEC Montréal Foundation. His aunt at that time manages a delivery point for a Lac-Saint-Jean farm, and he works on a customizable orders management system to help her with this. He then decides to build a platform out of it, that would be accessible to all.
A first version of localfarm.co is developed and used during the summer of 2015 by Les Jardins de St-Félicien, their delivery points, and over 200 members.
Now helped by his cousin Justin for the design and by his brother Frédéric for sales, the three of them set their sights on the rest of Quebec.
With their heads full of ideas and a deep desire to innovate, the Maferme team has a lot of surprises in store for 2017 and 2018.
